Felixstowe's coastguard involved as body found in river

Felixstowe's coastguard crew were among a joint response as a body was recovered from the river Orwell near to Orwell Bridge.

Suffolk's emergency services were called to the Strand, Wherstead, at 6am on Sunday after reports that a person was in the water.

Police and five fire crews attended, a coastguard helicopter was also seen with RNLI Harwich Lifeboat and coastguard teams from Holbrook also taking part in the search.

Suffolk Police confirmed a body was recovered at around 7.45am and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
