Hundreds of students at Felixstowe School will be affected today as teachers go out on strike.

The Felixstowe School is among six schools and colleges in Suffolk, and scores across the country as National Education Union (NEU) members take part in industrial action as they look fr better wages.

Like many secondary schools in England Felixstowe School will prioritise year 11 during the strikes as GCSE exams are weeks away.

A Department for Education spokesperson said: "Any strike action is hugely damaging.

"We have made a fair and reasonable pay offer to teachers recognising their hard work and commitment.

"Thanks to the further £2bn we are investing in our schools, next year, school funding will be at its highest level in history."
