A sandwich shop in Felixstowe has been handed a zero-star rating by food hygiene inspectors.

Grexmor takeaway sandwich shop in Sea Road in the resort was visited on July 8, 2022 and told major improvement was necessary..

Inspectors found that major improvement was needed in the cleanliness of the facilities and building and the management of food safety, while improvement was deemed necessary in the hygienic food handling category,

The report noted that 'system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future

The Food Standards Agency works with local authorities, in this case East Suffolk Council, to enforce food safety rules and award star-ratings to businesses, giving residents an indication of the cleanliness and hygiene.
