Visitors to Felixstowe Museum and Landguard Fort can now benefit from making a saving on joint weekend tickets for the two closely located attractions.

A joint ticket can be purchased at the ticket office of either Felixstowe Museum or Landguard Fort – located only a minute's walk apart on the Landguard Peninsular.

A joint ticket, providing entry to both attractions at less expense than two single tickets, costs £9.70 for adults, £9 for concessions and £5 for children aged five to 17.

Adults and concessions both save more than 10% when compared with the price of two separate tickets, while children's tickets also have the advantage of a small saving.

Andy Calver, manager and curator of Felixstowe Museum, said: "Visitors to Felixstowe Museum can explore our 14 galleries depicting the military and social history of Felixstowe, plus the new exhibitions we prepare for each new season.

"We've strong links with Landguard Fort – the building we occupy was once the fort's submarine mining establishment and there are strong military themes across both attractions. Making it cheaper to visit both us and the fort is great for our visitors."

Nicola Barker, general manager of Landguard Fort (pictured), added: "Visitors to Landguard Fort can enjoy over 400 years of military, social and geopolitical history, with displays dating back to the 17th century, through to the Victorian era, two world wars and the Cold War.

"As Andy said, both the museum and the fort have a lot in common and complement each other.

"Landguard Fort is an English Heritage site, so members get free access. So, the joint ticket is relevant for non-members only."

Felixstowe Museum opens from 12pm to 5pm, with last admission at 4.30pm, while Landguard Fort opens from 10am to 5pm, with last admission at 3.30pm.

Visitors to Landguard Peninsular can also enjoy Landguard Nature Reserve – a designated Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), covering 33 hectares (81 acres) offering a variety of flora and fauna, unusual rare plants and migrating birds.

The viewpoint is also considered the place to watch vessels entering and leaving the Port of Felixstowe.
