IT Support (First Line) - Full time - Permanent - Felixstowe

TLP are pleased to be working with a long established, multinational shipping company based in Felixstowe in their search for an experienced First Line IT Support.

Reporting to the IT Operations manager this busy role will involve looking after 180 users across three main sites, supporting activities across Shipping, Customs Clearance, Haulage and Construction Logistics so organisation skills are essential!

You will need to be a self-motivated team player who is flexible in adapting to company business needs. You will need to be a reliable individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The role involves, but is not limited to, supporting Microsoft and AD environments, telecoms (Avaya), M365, Transport systems (TOPs), EDI, and Finance systems (SAP B1)

Role Responsibilities:

Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone and electronically

Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues

Research questions using available information resources

Advise user on appropriate action

Log all help desk interactions (spice works)

Redirect problems to correct 2nd line support resource

Inform IT Manager of recurring problems

Stay current with system information changes and updates

Skills and Experience

IT/Technical Support experience (1 Year Preferred)

Knowledge of VMWare/Hyper-V (Advantageous)

Shipping Industry background would be useful but not essential

Well-developed interpersonal skills

Strong customer service skills

Problem-solving ability

Adaptable to changing workload and deadlines

Effective team interaction, ability to work well alone and as part of a team

Attention to detail
