Felixstowe Nub News delves into the urban legend of the Felixstowe Fire Demon.

You may or may not have come across the Felixstowe Fire Demon urban legend. However, the tale of this story has certainly made its rounds, most recently being spread online on websites dedicated to cryptids and online forums.

The tale is most likely a creepypasta, a horror-related, user-generated legend that has been shared over the internet which is fictional, but it is definitely an interesting tale.

According to the legend, the Felixstowe Fire Demon sighting took place in Felixstowe on the evening of September 20 1965.

The group who apparently sighted the fire demon consisted of driver, Geoffrey Maskey, and his passengers, Mavis Fordyce and Michael Johnson.

During the journey, Maskey pulled over onto the kerb on Walton Avenue. Whilst Maskey and Fordyce were engaged in conversation, Johnson suddenly got out of the car and into the night.

The passengers were initially confused but assumed he went for a toilet break.

However, soon after Johnson disappeared, the two remaining occupants of the car began hearing a "high-pitched humming" sound. Maskey, becoming annoyed at the noise, leaned out the window to find the origin of the sound.

It was at this point he saw an oval-shaped, orange object suspended in the sky over 90-feet above his car.

Johnson soon stumbled out of the woods and collapsed in the street. His friends brought him to the hospital.

At the hospital, he told of an encounter with an alien entity in the woods next to Walton Avenue. Johnson claimed he was compelled by an unknown force to leave the car and go into the woods.

Johnson then relayed that, in the woods, he encountered what he described as a humanoid being with large sloping eyes that were glowing in the darkness. He also claimed that the odd creature was engulfed by orange flames. It was then that he blacked out and awoke in the hospital.
