A care company, Home Instead, based in Felixstowe, Ipswich, and Woodbridge, is bringing festive cheer to older people in the community with its annual 'Be a Santa' gift giving scheme.
In its tenth year, the campaign aims to put smiles on faces, with the company calling on the community to 'Be a Santa' and donate gifts for those who may not otherwise receive anything for the big day.
Each year the company collects hundreds of gifts, making a real difference to the community. From winter warmers and toiletries to sweet treats and chocolates, any donations will help make Christmas special for those who may benefit from a festive pick me up.
The team from Home Instead Felixstowe, Ipswich, and Woodbridge will be spreading Christmas joy and collecting donations at John Lewis and Waitrose, Futura Park, Ipswich on the 17 and 18 of November, from 10am – 4pm.
Home Instead 'elves' will then wrap the presents and distribute them to local churches and the Salvation Army who will deliver them during the Christmas period.
Commenting on the heartwarming campaign, general manager at Home Instead Ipswich, Felixstowe & Woodbridge, Joanna McCall, said, "At Home Instead we know that Christmas can be a difficult time for many ageing adults. With our 'Be a Santa' campaign we can do our bit to combat loneliness and help make Christmas special for older people in the community.
"Please donate if you can. Any gift, big or small, will warm someone's heart this festive season."
