A senior Felixstowe clergyman is set to be made an honorary Canon this weekend.

The Reverend Andrew Dotchin is among eight clergy from the Suffolk area to be recognised for their service to the church at a special service this Sunday at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds.

Rev Dotchin has been the vicar of St John the Baptist with St Edmund in Felixstowe and also Rural Dean of the Colneys for the past five years.

After being ordained in South Africa Rev Dotchin, who is an East Anglian, came back to his home Diocese in 2000.

The livestreamed service will be held from 3.30pm this Sunday, and can be viewed here: Cathedral Service.
