Felixstowe Book Fest's latest chapter now set for June

A litany of local and international authors will be taking part in this year's Felixstowe Book Festival.

The annual event, who will be a mix of socially distanced live events and online speakers, has been booked in for the last weekend in June, Saturday and Sunday 25-27.

Festival patrons Terry Waite and Esther Freud will be among those speaking at The Orwell Hotel, while broadcaster Iain Dale, JoJo Moyes, Salley Vickers, Liz Trenow, Toby Faber are also among those book-lovers will be able to meet in person.

'Splendidly creepy' thriller writer Iain and Ally Aldridge are among the local Felixstowe authors that have released books over the past year, both using the freeport as an inspiration.

Other crime writers including Harriet Tyce, Kate Rhodes and Louise Millar will make up a panel chaired by Felixstowe author Ruth Dugdall.

In addition the festival will be live streaming two authors direct from New York, who will join another 14 authors including Carol Drinkwater, Andrew Lownie, Helen McCarthy, Christopher Tugendhat and Richard Dawkins.

Tickets for both the Orwell Hotel, and for the online events, will be on sale on May 1 and be available online or by phoning Eastern Angles Theatre Company 01473 211498 (Monday-Friday 10am – 2pm)
