Dolphin Hotel in Felixstowe closed as pub

A Felixstowe pub with an asking price of £495,000 is throwing its doors open next week for an open viewing.

The Dolphin Hotel on Beach Station Road has been on the market for more than a year after being closed by Admiralty Taverns.

Now, agents Everard Cole are holding an open viewing on Tuesday, 17 January between 11am and 12noon in a bid to secure a buyer.

Although it has previously been trading as a hotel with 13 letting rooms, and a bar with multiple internal areas, there is an opportunity to seek planning permission to turn it into a residential development.

With a car park capable of taking 25 vehicles, the building is not listed, nor situated within a Conservation Area.

The Dolphin, which lies on the south side of Felixstowe close to Britain's largest container port and a few minutes walk to the seafront, is being offered with vacant possession.

Everard Cole has listed the property as being available on a freehold basis, being sold as seen, for an unconditional, cash offer in excess of £495,000, plus VAT.

Formerly known as the Station Hotel, it changed its name in 1969, the pub's history goes back to 1878.
