Stand in boss Andy Crump hailed Felixstowe & Walton's second half showing after their 2-2 draw at Maldon & Tiptree, in their Isthmian League North opener.

Trailing 2-0 at the break the Seasiders snatched a 98th draw with goals from Billy Holland and Josh Hitter.

"Over the course of 90 minutes the boys got what they deserved for their performance," Crimp told Seasiders TV. "The second half was much more reflective of the type of positive football we want to play, as we were too passive in the first half.

"That had to change at half time and the new rules on injury time helped us in the end."

Felixstowe failed to clear their lines and Louie Remi struck to give the Jammers the lead.

George Smith doubled the hosts' lead with a disported goal which came down from the crossbar, which was deemed to have crossed the line.

A half-time talking to by assistant manger Andy Crump spurred the Seasiders into a battling second period, led by skipper Billy Holland who quickly pulled one back from long range.

Zak Brown had a goal disallowed for offside but Felixstowe continued to press.

Hitter gleefully finished from inside the box after good work from Jack Ainsley to secure a point after eight minutes of time added on.
