UPDATED: One dead, two rescued as Border Force urgently responding to incident near Felixstowe coast

UPDATED: 07.30 (October 27) One migrant died, two brought ashore from dinghy.
The Home Office said the "extensive" search and rescue operation for a man reported to have entered the water concluded at about 14:00 BST.
A spokesperson said: "While the investigation into this incident continues, it is a reminder of the extreme dangers of crossing the Channel in small boats and the callous disregard for life shown by the criminal gangs."

UPDATED 12.05: Coastguard now involved UK's Border Force is "urgently responding" to an incident a few miles to the south of of the Felixstowe coast. The Home Office said the agency has been sent to a location off Harwich, but did not reveal more information. "Further details will be provided after the initial response and once the situation has been resolved," a spokesperson said. A Coastguard helicopter has joined what is now being described as search and rescue operation. A spokesman for HM Coastguard (MCA) said: "We sent the coastguard helicopter from Lydd and a coastguard fixed wing aircraft. HM Coastguard will continue to safeguard life around the seas and coastal areas of the UK, working with search and rescue resources in the area. "If a vessel needs search and rescue assistance, HM Coastguard will continue to respond and rescue those in danger." Border Force is the official UK agency tasked with securing the nation's borders.
