A general manager has been appointed at a new Felixstowe hotel as well as a brand-new Marco Pierre White inspired restaurant and pub.

Andrew Vales has now taken over the day-to-day management of a new boutique-style hotel called Hotel Coco which will also include the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and new pub called The Queen's Head.

Located at what is currently The Brook Hotel, the new hotel, restaurant and pub forms part of a £750,000 investment. With work well underway at the venue, opening is earmarked for early summer.

With a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, Andrew is now looking forward to welcoming guests to both the new hotel and restaurant.

Originally from London but with a Spanish family, he has worked for both well-known corporate companies as well as privately owned businesses in both the UK and Spain and includes Fortnum and Mason and Los Monteros Five-Star GL.

Andrew is also very familiar with Felixstowe having been in charge of both the Orwell Hotel and Limes Hotel.

It's this experience and knowledge which he hopes will help attract guests to both Hotel Coco and the Marco Pierre White restaurant.

Andrew said: "When I saw the plans for what will be Hotel Coco I was instantly excited by what it will eventually be like.

"And with Marco Pierre White being arguably one of the most famous chefs in the world the chance to run one of his restaurants was one I just couldn't turn down.

"It's also very exciting to be the first venue to open a pub under his name.

"We're still on the lookout for members of the team and I'd like to hear from those who would like to be considered to work here. Roles that we're looking to fill includes receptionists, waiters, night porter and housekeeping.

"Work on site is really coming on at pace and I know the restaurant will completely capture Marco's ethos of creating a venue where friends and family can come to enjoy drinks and food in relaxed, comfortable and unpretentious setting.

"I love cooking and plan to make Marco's Steakhouse the go-to restaurant in the area and can't wait to get open."
