All three Felixstowe councillors hung on to their county council seats as the Conservative party enjoyed success nationally.

Graham Newman and Steve Wiles retained their places as the Felixstowe Coastal representatives on Suffolk County Council, while Simon Bird won a relatively close two candidate race against Labour's David Rowe to take Felixstowe North and Trimley.

With Ipswich Borough seats still to come, the Conservatives had won 50 seats, the Green Party had increased their seats to nine, while the Lib Dems and Labour were suffering in the polls.
