40-year-old person from Falkenham arrested after A12 crash leaves man seriously injured

A man from Falkenham, near Felixstowe, has been arrested in connection with a serious collision on the A12 in Essex, which has left another man in hospital with a life-threatening condition.

Emergency crews were called to a collision between four vehicles on the southbound carriageway near Langham at around 6.50am on Wednesday, February 10.

An air ambulance landed on the dual carriageway, which was closed for two hours, and several other ambulance units, the fire service and police went to the serious incident.

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and a 40-year-old man from Falkenham, was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Road traffic police continue to investigate the collision and are now appealing for any information or dash cam footage from witnesses.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, are asked to get in contact with our Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam footage."
