Joan Rich had special company for her 75th circuit of her 102 lap NHS challenge, when she was joined by someone even older than her.

Wynnie Dunger, who celebrated her 102nd birthday last week, went round with 101-year-old Joan as edges ever nearer her target, making it an astonishing 203 years together, and still going strong.

Wynnie, mother of Felixstowe radio presenter Rob Dunger, praised Joan for her hard work and effort and said she would not be attempting similar challenge.

After setting and initial target of £1,020, Joan has raised more than £21,000 at the last count, as she attempts to walk 102 laps of Allenby Park, before the 102nd birthday in September.

Rob has been a huge supporter of Joan and regular features her progress on his show between 11am - 1pm each week day.

He told Nub News: "My mother was very impressed when I told her Joan and we decided she would join in and support her but has said she won't be challenging her for her crown.

"It is wonderful to see these ladies as active as they are at their age.

"I cannot imagine me being as lively as they are are even if I get to my hundreds, I will be probably be sitting drooling in a chair.

"Joan has been amazing and I'm sure she will reach her goal. To have raised more than £20,000 already is incredible."

The 75th circuit was featured on Look East and Joan said: "It has been a very humbling experience and it is lovely to see all these people with us."

Joan does her walk most days (depending on weather), with her daughter Diane Rich who has also helped write a book about Allenby Park. (More on that to come) .
