Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman had her purse stolen while charity shopping in Felixstowe.

The victim, who is in her 70s, was assisting a disabled friend, also in her 70s, when she had a pink purse stolen from her bag in Hamilton Road on Thursday 10th February between 11am and 1pm.

The pair visited a number of charity shops before going to a café where the theft was discovered.

Police are reminding all shoppers to ensure bags are fastened and that valuables are kept in bags worn across the front of the body.

If anyone has information, images or footage which could help the inquiry please contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference number 37/9076/22.
