Friday's fun fact

Did you know that there is no such thing as "pear cider"?

Cider is made from fermented apples and only apples. Alcoholic beverages can be made from pears but it is called "perry".
It was popular in England for centuries but fell out of favour in the twentieth century. This changed in the 1990s when it was rebranded "pear cider" but "cider" cannot be made from pears.
