Felixstowe councillors consider drive-in cinema

A drive-in outdoor cinema could be premiered in Felixstowe this summer.

Three films are planned to be shown in a one-day event at Grove Park car park, if the scheme is given the go head.

The suggestion is part of a Felixstowe Forward report being considered by town councillors tonight.

It is anticipated the one off showing would cost approximately £5.5-£6k. with up to 60 cars per showing being able to get into the car park, has the advantage of having public conveniences nearby..

The report points out the event will need to fully risk assess against COVID-19: for example, the use of public conveniences would need to be monitored and additional cleaning scheduled in by East Suffolk District Council.
