There was better news for Felixstowe and surrounding villages as Covid-19 related deaths fell significantly over the past two months.

Latest official figures showed one person was recorded to have died during June in the four Suffolk Coastal electoral areas for the area.

A total of 22 people have died in the combined area including Felixstowe East, Felixstowe Seafront, Felixstowe West and Trimly & Kirton, with half of those recorded in April.

The one death in June occurred in Felixstowe East, which includes Old Felixstowe and Felixstowe Ferry, where a total of 10 losses due to Covid-19 related illness since March.

No deaths have been recorded in the other three wards during June, while Felixstowe Seafront ward has not suffered any losses since April.
