100% of Felixstowe School students get the university place of their choice

Felixstowe School students have secured 100% success for all those wishing to study at degree level by obtaining their place at their chosen university.
Despite the challenging circumstances of the past couple of years, 30 Felixstowe School students were today celebrating their Level 3 qualifications.
Assistant headteacher for sixth form, Xavier Norte, said: "I am so proud of all our students, they are a credit to the school and their families.
"It has been an extremely challenging couple of years for them, so It has been pleasing to see our students achieve their best and move on to the next stage of their lives. We wish all of our leavers every success in the future."
Sixth form numbers continue to increase at Felixstowe School and the Unity Partnership Trust school has spoken of its pride at being part of the vibrant Felixstowe community.
Teachers congratulated every individual for their personal success while mentioning the following students in particular:
Bella Cleaveland achieved an A* in Psychology, two A grades in Maths & EPQ and a Distinction* in Business.
Bella said: "Getting these results feels good, really good – better than expected. I can't wait to start University". Bella will be studying Psychology at the University of East Anglia.
Other notable results included:
- After achieving some fantastic A-level results, including an A* grade in Art and an A in History, Matt Studd will be attending Norwich University of Arts to study Fine Art.
- Head Girl, Charlotte Taylor achieved top grades including 3 A grades and a Distinction*. She will be going on to study Criminology and criminal Law at Essex University.
- Ben Fawkes has accepted a place at Nottingham Trent University to study Business Management & Marketing after achieving some excellent results, including two A grades.
- Rachel King is also celebrating excellent results, including two A* an A and a 'B' grade. Her determination and hard work have been inspirational and we could not be prouder of her. Rachel is off to Essex University to study Curating.
Felixstowe School headteacher, Emma Wilson-Downes, said: "The past two years have been incredibly difficult for young people, and our students have been incredible in rising to the challenges they have been presented with.
"The work ethic they have built and continually demonstrated will be a huge asset to them in their future careers, and the grit and determination they have shown throughout has been nothing short of inspirational.
"We are so proud to call them our alumni, and look forward to hearing the great things that they go on to achieve in the future."
Along with other schools in the county, Felixstowe will not be producing a league table of results.
Councillor Rachel Hood, cabinet member for Education, SEND and Skills said "Congratulations to those students who have received their A Level results today and to the staff who have supported our students with their studies during this unprecedented time.
