As part of their meeting today, Suffolk's Public Sector Leaders committed to accelerate efforts across the county towards delivering the Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan that will set Suffolk on the path for carbon neutrality by 2030.

A key forthcoming campaign will focus on helping people understand what simple changes they can make to their home to help reduce carbon emissions, including details of what help and support is available across Suffolk.

Felixstowe business which have been, and continue to be, severely affected by Covid-19 restrictions have been encouraged to apply for funding and support in East Suffolk.

Delivered by the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and East Suffolk Council, the new 'Plan for the Future' scheme begins on Monday 27 September and provides support to businesses in East Suffolk which have been severely affected by Covid-19 and the subsequent restrictions.

Calls have been made by Felixstowe councillors for East Suffolk to double the number of council homes it builds each year after it was deemed current targets were not ambitious enough.

East Suffolk Council's 2020-24 housing strategy features a target of 50 new council houses to be built each year, let to people on the council's waiting list at affordable rent rates.
