Meet Up Monday at the Boardwalk Cafe bar with Heidi Manning, Tina Durrant, Jane Barnett and Tony Hitchcock

The founding members of Meet Up Mondays at the Boardwalk Cafe Bar on Felixstowe pier have spoken of their first day impression and how they are looking forward to continue the experience.

Hosted by the Boardwalk's assistant manager Heidi Manning, the group introduced themselves over a free cup of tea or coffee and some biscuits and in no time at all were chatting away like old friends.

Felixstowe manager Stuart Boardley made clear his respect and pride in his players after the Seasiders sensationally came from behind to beat Peterborough Sports in the FA Trophy.

Despite losing their number one keeper in the warm up due to sickness, injury set backs and going a goal behind to a Dan Lawlor free kick after just four minutes, the Seasiders overcame the adversity to secure victory at the Goldstar Ground and beat the Step Three team that tops the Southern League Premier Division Central, a level above Felixstowe in the football pyramid.

The owners of a long standing clothes shop in Felixstowe have expressed their sorrow at having to close down.

Fashion retailer Yours, in the Hamilton Road shopping precinct, will shut its doors for the last time on November 27 and the owners have expressed sadness that the decline in customers, and long periods of closure during the pandemic, have forced them to join others in leaving the town.
