In My Opinion: Be Kind is more than just a slogan

I got bored very early on in these very strange and terrifying times with the go to slogans STAY AT HOME, SAVE LIVE, SUPPORT the NHS etc etc.
Well quite frankly, if you didn't understand that message early on and the dire consequences of not adhering to it, then clearly you never would.
The lock lockdown has created its own set of problems, needs and challenges for people struggling with being at home, not able to work , home schooling or dealing with an abusive relationship or feeling isolated with mental health problems.
I was in the WH SMITHS' Felixstowe Post Office chatting to the brilliant staff and I cannot remember exactly what was said but KIND came into the conversation and I just blurted out!
Please be Kind!
So now that is what I say, kindness costs nothing you don't even have to agree with people to be kind.
Over the past weeks in lock down there have been some truely amazing acts of kindness and some very small acts of kindness but if you happen to be on the receiving end it is very difficult to explain how great it makes you feel inside.
Like the paramedic brought to tears as she went to her car and there was a coffee on the roof and all her neighbours clapping and cheering, how she must of felt inside!
For me social distancing, letting me out at a road junction, slowing down to let you cross the road, saying good morning, paying for a nurses shopping, providing food and drink to essential workers, saying hi to the postie and asking if he is ok, listening to family and friends worries, calling on an elderly neighbour to see if they want any shopping, the CLAP on Thursday night , the many millions of pounds you have donated to charity, Sir Tom, all the home workers making masks and scrubs!
ALL ACTS OF KINDNESS in their own way!
During this week of Mental Health awareness, acts of kindness don't need a monetary value and could make a real difference to someone suffering with their mental health.
Please be KIND!
