Therese Coffey voted against NHS staff and carers getting weekly Covid-19 testing

Suffolk Coastal MP Theresa Coffey, who represents the Felixstowe area in parliament, has faced criticism after she and fellow Conservatives voted against a motion calling for NHS and social care staff to be routinely tested for covid-19 regardless of symptoms.MPs have rejected a motion calling for NHS and social care staff to be routinely tested for covid-19 regardless of symptoms, as the country emerges from lockdown.

The motion, proposed by Labour's shadow health secretary, Jonathan Ashworth, fell with 344 votes cast against and 198 for. However, this was not before an amendment on the motion, put forward by the prime minister, Boris Johnson, and health secretary for England, Matt Hancock, was passed, which praised the government for its "tireless efforts."

This week 160 years ago, the Sea Cadets was first formed.It goes back to the Crimean War when sailors returning home from the campaign formed 'Naval Lads' Brigades' to help orphans created by the conflict. The Sea Cadets received Royal recognition in 1899 when Queen Victoria presented Windsor unit with £10 for uniforms.

An action group objecting to controversial plans to build 340 new homes at in Trimley are determined to fight on even after their bid two extend a public consultation process due to Covid-19, have vowed to fight on.

Trinity College Cambridge have applied to build up to 340 dwellings with open space, a new Early Years Facility, along with a new roundabout access from Howlett Way, a foul water pumping station and associated landscaping.
