People in the Felixstowe area can have their say on plans for a 'healing' woodland space in memory of those who died from Covid-19, with a new survey having been launched in Suffolk and council chiefs behind the scheme say the potential locations are to be identified in the new year.

In July Suffolk County Council unanimously agreed to establish 'healing woods' in the county which would enable people who lost loved ones to Covid-19 a space to grieve or reflect on the pandemic.

Felixstowe residents have been asked not to gather at the War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday but to watch the ceremony live on Facebook.

The call has come in a bid to maintain social distancing as the Covid-19 pandemic continues. This year's Act of Remembrance will take place on Sunday 8th November but will only include a limited number of representatives from the clergy, the Suffolk Lieutenancy, the Royal British Legion, and the Town Council.
