Felixstowe's Spa Pavilion has been given £572,305 from Suffolk's share of £2m from the second round of the Government's Culture Recovery Fund.

The cash boost comes from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport which announced more than 2,700 cultural and creative organisations are to receive a share of more than £400 million in grants and loans as part of a vital financial boost from the Government's £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.

East Suffolk Council is preparing to process the new one-off Restart Grants to help Felixstowe businesses as they look to re-open.

The Restart Grant scheme, announced as part of the Chancellor's budget, supports businesses in the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care, accommodation and gym/sport sectors with a one-off payment to re-open safely as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

A decision on whether offshore wind farms off the Suffolk coast will be built has been pushed back by three months, it has emerged.

The Planning Inspectorate on Thursday confirmed it has extended the examination period for ScottishPower Renewables' plans for the East Anglia One North (EA1N) and East Anglia Two (EA2) windfarm proposals until July 6 – three months later than the planned examination end date of Tuesday next week.

A Felixstowe man has been fined nearly £1,800 after fly-tipping.

Colin Hill, of Cambridge Road, Felixstowe was found guilty on Monday, (March 29), of fly-tipping and was fined a total of £1,793, of which £1,439 was costs, at Ipswich Magistrates' Court.

Don't order pizza with pineapple topping today

Foodhub – the UK's third biggest takeaway food delivery app, with a number of outlets in the Felixstowe area – has banned customers from ordering Hawaiian pizzas via any of its platforms.

The ban has been put in place from April 1st on the personal instruction of Foodhub CEO Ardian Mula, who has made a video to explain the reasoning behind the sudden decision.
