Councillors wiff-waff as Felixstowe goes PING!

Suffolk's second PING! Town was officially launched in Felixstowe, with the opening of outdoor tables sited throughout the town.

The tables – located at six key play areas in the town along with two in the heart of the town centre at Great Eastern Square - have been made possible thanks to a wider partnership between Table Tennis England, Suffolk County Council led Most Active County Partnership - which will see increasing numbers of tables located in a variety of outdoor locations across the county – and locally East Suffolk Council and Felixstowe Town Council.

Work has started on transforming a former Felixstowe school for a scheme to deliver more housing and leisure opportunities in the town.

Builders have move don to the Deben High site to demolish a large part of the former school buildings to accommodate a new leisure and housing development.

District case rate as of 11 July 2021

Prime Minster Boris Johnson announced that nearly all legal social distancing measures in England will be lifted on Monday, 19 July as the country moves to the final stages of Covid easing.

The announcement comes as a number of people in the Felixstowe area are self isolating after either being tested positive, or being pinged by the NHS, saying they had been in close contact with an infected person.
