Did you know?

Although Felixstowe was synonymous with the Royal Air Force, and its famed seaplanes connections, the Royal Navy set up base here as HMS Beehive during the second or war. MTBs were protecting the three peninsulas of Landguard, Harwich and Shotley, right up until VE Day, 75 years ago.

Quote of the day:

"Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong — these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history,"

Winston Churchill

Riddle of the day:

If you told Royal Navy personnel to "secure a building," they would turn off the lights and lock the doors. The British Army would occupy the building so no one could enter. Royal Marines would assault the building, capture it, and defend it with suppressive fire and close combat.

What would the RAF do?

Answer will be revealed tomorrow.

Previous Riddle Answer:

During WWII, there was a bridge connecting Germany and Switzerland, and on the German side, there was a sentry tower with a guard in it. He would come out every three minutes to check on the bridge, and he had orders to turn back anyone who tried to get into Germany, and shoot anyone trying to escape without a pass. There was a woman who desperately needed to get into Switzerland, and she knew she didn't have time to get a pass. It would take her at least six minutes to cross the bridge, but she managed to do it. How?
