We're continuing to welcome new residents at The Firs this Autumn. Our care home is purpose-built to provide the highest level of residential and residential dementia care.

We encourage our residents to personalise their spacious en-suite rooms, where a number of our rooms benefit from lovely views of our private accessible gardens.

Our aim is for our residents to enjoy a real sense of community by offering a wide range of activities and encouraging independence and choice. Our beautiful home is designed to support this and offers areas of interest, such as a library and a number of different lounges.

The Firs has a hair and beauty salon, where residents can enjoy being pampered. For our residents who celebrate birthdays, we've helped make their day special as they wish. It's wonderful to see them enjoy their cake, gifts and a buffet tea or Afternoon Tea.

At The Firs, our team are specially selected for their skills and, of course, their passion for care and a natural desire to help. Our friendly carers spend their time getting to know our residents, ensuring that our care is tailored to their interests, preferences and lifestyles. From the moment a new resident steps into our home, they can be assured of personally tailored care.

Colleagues at The Firs work tirelessly to keep those living with us engaged and happy. In addition to welcoming visitors into our care homes*, our residents have access to up-to-date technology, enabling regular Skype or Zoom calls with family and friends.

Michael, a resident at Mayflower Court commented, "The care staff bring me an iPad already set up with a video call from my daughter. They then leave me in my own privacy while I take the call. All I have to do is talk to her and once I am done, I press my call bell and the carer returns to end the call for me."

Our home-cooked food is always enjoyed, and our catering team work hard to ensure that they provide a lovely dining experience at each mealtime. We take great pride in the range of high quality, seasonally focused and nutritionally balanced meals that we serve to residents on a daily basis. We appreciate that mealtimes are a sociable and pleasurable part of each day.
