Long established regional group of companies and associated companies with an annual revenue circa £2m requires an experienced Accountant. This role will support the Finance Director and work with a small team to process monthly accounting records, produce monthly management accounts and year-end accounts for all businesses both inside and outside of the group. This secondary role is to work within the team shadowing all individuals to understand their job role and tasks to then reduce bottlenecks, assist covering holidays but also assist the business in updating processes to move the business forward.

Essential Experience

• Previous Accountancy experience, ideally membership of a professional accounting body, with willingness to learn new skills outside of accounting
• Year-end and group management accounts experience
• Strong understanding of tax and accounts
• Ability to oversee/supervise data entry and record keeping leading to monthly/year-end accounts
• Experience of handling multiple business year-end accounts including group accounts
• A pro-active attitude with exceptional teamwork and able to work alone
• Effective communication with existing staff, understanding their roles and with external parties, including auditors
• Strong IT literacy - accounting software and Excel skills are imperative
